The Democratic Republic of Congo military says it has quashed an tried coup towards President Felix Tshikedi within the capital Kinshasa, involving Congolese and international warring parties.

DR Congo military spokesperson Brig Gen Sylavin Ekenge stated at the state-run broadcaster RTNC TV that a number of suspects had been detained and the “situation is now under control”.

His remark comes hours then armed males attacked the home of Essential Kamerhe, the previous eminent of group of workers and near best friend to President Tshisekedi early on Sunday morning.

Eyewitnesses say a bunch of about 20 assailants in military uniform attacked the place of dwelling and an alternate of gunfire adopted.
